1. RISC (Risk Identification of Soil Contamination) :
In the period 1991–1994 the RISC (= Risk Identification of Soil Contamination) project was carried out. The objective of this project was the development of a framework for a knowledge-based system for risk identification of individual contaminated sites. The created RISC-framework uses expertise on presence and behaviour of contaminants in soils in order to predict potential risks for man and environment.

2. Centre for Biological Processes in Contaminated Soil and Sediment (BIOPRO) :
Centre for biological processes in contaminated soil and sediment (BIOPRO) comprises research initiatives within three areas: 1) improved techniques for soil bioremediation, 2) understanding of the biological system in a contaminated soil in order to predict variation in the efficiency of the biological system and 3) risk assessment – is the soil clean enough following bioremediation, looking especially on recalcitrant and humano- toxic compounds.

3. Association for Environmental Health and Sciences (AEHS) :
The Association for Environmental Health and Sciences (AEHS) was created to facilitate communication and foster cooperation among professionals concerned with the challenge of soil protection and cleanup.
